Processing of Medical Emergency Cases |

The powers for granting ex-post-facto sanction for reimbursement of expenses incurred by AFHQ civilian employees on medical treatment in emergency in private hospitals are vested with JS (T) & CAO, being the Head of Department (HoD). Earlier, such cases were being examined at concerned Senior Administrative Officer’s level and suitable recommendations with regard to such cases were being made through proper channel to HoD for approval. |

In order to have an effective system to examine the emergency cases, it was decided to form a Committee, which would analyse each medical emergency case and give its recommendations to HoD. |

The Committee was constituted in Feb 2005 with the approval of JS (T) & CAO. Dy CAO (A) is the Chairman of the Committee and the members include Director (Civ), Naval HQ, Director PC, Air HQ, Joint Director, CAO/A-2 and a doctor rep from DGAFMS (at the level of Maj/Lt Col). |

The Committee has been meeting regularly as per requirement (once or twice a month) for making its recommendations on medical emergency cases. |
